New seals

 Today's temperature was about 13 degrees Celsius. I went to "Tokkari Center" for the first for half year. I saw new seals and new zookeeper. I talk with a seal fan  and  a foreign visitor.

Baby scallops

 Today's high was 7 degrees Celsius. I took a walk with camera around downtown. I saw a interesting sight that many baby scallops were loaded to fishing boats. They are spread in sea near city. They grow up there for 3 years. After that, fishermen will get them.

Drift ice that has returned

 We've had heavy snow since 3/12. It lasted for 3 days. The snow is 50 cm deep. The storm ended yesterday. The north wind kept blowing, so the drift ice came back.

Weather-beaten gull

The 63th Drift ice festival

 We are having the 63th drift ice festival until tomorrow. The main ice stature is Mombetsu shrine.

Drift ice has reached

 Drift ice has reached at the beach of Mombetsu. It is called Ryuhyo Misaki there. See is covered by white Drift ice.
