Civil diplomacy with South Korea

 I'm taking a civic class in Korean. I attended an online seminar introducing Busan city the other day. Aiming for Civil Diplomacy. 

The orange clouds

 Today's sunrise was 7:01. Temperature was -4.6 Celsius. The clouds blocked my view of the sun. But the orange clouds were impressive. I took this picture at Mombetsu Park.

The airplane in the blue sky

 Today's high was -2.6 Celsius, today's low was -10.8 Celsius. The blue sky was beautiful today, so I took a picture of the airplane at the Mombetsu Airport. Mombetsu is ANA.

It was too cold

 Today's sunrise was 6:59. Temperature was -9.2 degrees Celsius. It was too cold. Weather will be good today. 

Wild seals as they woke up.

 Today's sunrise was at 7:00. Temperature was -7 degrees Celsius. I photographed wild seals as they woke up.

Christmas bus 3

 The Christmas bus runs through the city. The window and the inside of the car are decorated. There are two of them, green and orange. You can see both during the connecting time at the bus terminal. You can see it until the 25th. However, on the 18th and 19th, it's a different bus.

 I photographed a Christmas bus during the day. Window decoration stickers are now easy to understand. It's the old Ekimae-dori to Mombetsu Port. You can see the red lighthouse.

The cute seal

 Today's high was -4.2 degrees Celsius. I saw 6 seals at the port of Garinko-gou. They are wildlife. I took a picture of the cute seal.

Christmas Bus

 Christmas is less than 2 weeks away. There are decorated buses running in the city. It matches the illumination in front of the bus terminal.

You can see wild seals

 Wild seals increased in December. You have a 90 % chance of seeing it. You can see wild seals around port of Garinko-go. And around Okhotsuk Tower. There is a coffee shop "companio" in the observatory on the third floor. There is a ANA flight between Mombetsu and Tokyo.

Sunrise from the clouds

 The sunrise this morning was scheduled for 6:53 a.m.  But it was 7 a.m. when the sun emerged from the clouds. The temperature was -4.4 degrees Celsius. It was taken in Mombetsu park. Amazing.

Sign of seriousness

The highest temperature today was -0.5 degrees Celsius. Same as yesterday. This photo is Tokkari Center, a specialized seal facility. The zoo keepers were smiling and feeding the seals. A smile is a sign of seriousness. The customers will smile.

Keep smiling

 Today's high was -0.5 degrees Celsius. It was extremely cold because of the strong wind. But the zoo keepers kept smiling. Amazing.

White Illumination 2024

 Today's high was 0.7 degrees Celsius. There was full-scale snow in the afternoon. It has become a world of silver. The photo shows the White Illumination in front of the bus terminal.

A seal and I store fat

 Today's temperature was 8 degrees Celsius. The forecast says it will be severely cold from tomorrow. A seal and I store fat to withstand the cold. (^^;

The sun from Mt. sharidake

 Today's sunrise was at 6:43 a.m.  The sun rose from the Mt. sharidake at the base of Shiretoko Peninsula. The fishing boat just came back. Photographed at Mombetsu Park.

Smiling zookeeper

 Today's temperature was 4 degrees Celsius. I saw 6 wild seals. On the other hand, I took a picture of smiling zookeeper at Tokkari Center. She was checking the health of the seals.

A photo exhibition started

 There was snow this morning. It was the first snow shoveling of the season. On the other hand, a photo exhibition started at the museum today. This is the Mombetetsu branch of the Hokkaido Photographic Society. 7 people including me are exhibiting 37 works. Until December 22th. 

Scallop Rice Bowl

 Mombetsu is famous for scallops. I recommend "Scallop Rice Bowl" at Izakaya restaurant "Yotteke Marutomi". It comes with miso soup. The taste and the volume are nice. Please enjoy seafood. 

The chocolate banana ice waffle

 The Okhotsk Tower on the sea jutting out from the pleasure boat port in Mombetsu. The coffee shop "companio" in the observatory is specialized in waffle sweets. I recommend the chocolate banana ice waffle. Please enjoy it while looking at wild seals and Mombetsu.

 Today's temperature was 2 degrees Celsius. 6 seals were seen at the port.

Isari-bi Season

 The temperature this morning was 2 degrees Celsius. I saw Isari-bi in Mombetsu Port. It's squid fishing season, but how about this year?

Korean Cuisine Korean Pancake

 I cooked Korean Cuisine Korean Pancake in a Korean language class. I've been taking a Korean language class at the Nippon-Korean Friendship. Mombetsu citizens who like Korean culture are gathering. This class started last month.

 I could take a picture of ATLAS comet in Lake KOMUKE. I was moved.

Reflecting the Mt.Mombetsu

 It's sunny today, too. In the Forest Park, you can see the beautiful Mt.Mombetsu. The pond is like mirror reflecting the mountain.

Red around the bus terminal

 The temperature when I took a walk this morning was 8.5 degrees Celsius. The leaves were turning red around the bus terminal.

A long-established kamaboko shop

 Today's street photograph is of a long-established kamaboko shop "Kobayashi Syokuhin-ten". kamaboko is Fish cake. I think it's been more than 40 years. It has many fans and is also popular with tourists. It's near the bus terminal.

 The temperature was 10 degrees Celsius at 6:30 this morning. There were interesting clouds, so I took a picture in the forest park. It's an autumn sky.
