Take a walk and some pictures

Today was sunny day.

It was good condition for taking a walk.

After ate lunch, I began to walk.

I passed through the local main hospital.

After 10min,

Both side snow wall on sidewalk !

It looks like a labyrinth !

After 40 min, I walked along the Forest Park.

Snow white, White trees, Blue sky were a beautiful combination work !

I was interested in the patern of tree shadow waves.

It took 50 min to return my house.

I feel refresh !

The Cape of Sunrise

I went to " Hinode Misaki" to see drift ice.

"Hinode Misaki" means that The Cape of Sunrise.

It is in Oumu town where is northern from Mombetsu.

There is drift ice field in front of the cape.

According to weather forecast, southern wind will blow tomorrow.

Wind might bring drift ice further.

Baby Seal "MILK"

There is  The Seal Center in Mombetsu.

It is a care center for wild seals.

Some weak baby seals are brought  there in every spring.

Now a swiming baby noticed my camera.

Then it changed its swiming course and getting closer me.

It came in front of me and stare at me.

I felt it say " Do you remember me ? ".

I was thinking " Who are you ? " .

Eventuly I remembered its neme " MILK ".

She was brought this center last spring.

I took many pictures when she was moved to big pool  last autumn.

Thank you for remembering me !

Ice statue light up

 

Ice statues of  Drift Ice Festival have been lighted up at night.

 

First photo is the palace of Thailand and Eelephant. 

 

 

The palace is so big and nice color !

 

This was made by the Self-Defense Forces.

 

You can enjoy many statues made by citizen too.

The 53th Mombetsu Drift Ice Festival

The 53th Mombetsu Drift Ice Festival has held.

Main ice statue is the palace of Thailand.

Eelephant statue was made by Thai people.

It is so real !

The pink mascot is "Monbemon" which is Mombetsu's monster.

 

We took the radio exercise event. 

Radio exercise is familiar national exercize for about 3 min.

It has 3 pattern. Of course, we took all.

 

 

"Monta" the seal is our Mombetsu's mascot.

 

He is idol for children ! 

The lowest temperture

Today's morning recorded the lowest temperture in this winter.

The official record was 14.9 degrees C below freezing.

It was almost same sunrise time.

My handy thermometer showed about 17 degrees C below freezing.

I felt very very cold, becouse with strong wind.

This picture was taken at Omusaro beach.

There were a lot of drift ice on the beach.

According to weather forecast, it says that north wind will continue.

More drift ice might arrive the coastline of Mombetsu.

You can enjoy a drift ice crusing by Garinko-gou boat !

The drift ice arrived again

Mombetsu met with a blizzard from Sunday to Monday.

The strong north wind brought drift ice to coastline again.

Today, city hall announced the drift ice arrived to Mombetsu in 2015.

This picture was taken at lunch time.

After that, I think drift ice was getting closer.

Then, it arrived to the almost coastline of Mombetsu.
